OUR STORY
"As a cofounder of Life College, I now have a daughter who is 33 years old with Autism. She began the program in 2014 as one of the first students, She completed the Living Skills and Internship program, completed a one year certificate in Office Administration at Irvine Valley College and has been employed since 2017 in office administration roles, all with the support from Life College. She is now a contributing member of the community, loves her work and has her network of friends and co-workers." - Greg Brashears
We believe that many young adults with intellectual disabilities can lead independent lives with the help of meaningful and ongoing transition support. We help young adults with intellectual disabilities including, but not limited to, Autism, Fragile X, and other Developmentally Delayed Learners.
We’ve created a dynamic and community based Occupational Therapy based program in cooperation with Stanbridge University to help our students and their families reach their goals. Our unique program allows our students to gain independence through internships, community college support, and employment with increased interpersonal and living skills with a hands-on teaching model. The program is hosted at Stanbridge University under the oversight of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program.
80% of students completing the program become employed and 100% of those attending Irvine Valley College complete their academic goals. That compares to an unemployment rate of 85% for the population we serve.
Life College is grateful for our partners: Stanbridge University, Irvine BMW, Irvine Valley College and the employers that provide these exceptional opportunities.
