Q. What is OC Nonprofit Central?
OC Nonprofit Central is an online database of nonprofit organizations that serve Orange County. You are able to search for organizations, view detailed information for each one, and donate to whichever organizations you care most about. OC Nonprofit Central is an initiative of the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF).
Q. Who can donate? And how?
Anyone can donate! Donations through the OC Nonprofit Central online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded.
Contributions may be made via credit and debit card. For gifts over $100, donors will have the option to donate from their online bank account via an ACH transfer; this "Plaid" payment option has a flat fee of $3. Click here to learn more about donating directly from your bank account. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.
No goods or services can be received by the donor for gifts made through the Nonprofit Central site.
Q. How will donations be distributed?
Each donation made to a participating nonprofit will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 5 business days.
Q. How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?
GiveGab retains a 2.5% platform fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are 2.2% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). If (for donations of more than $100) donors choose to donate directly from their bank account through our Plaid option, a flat fee of $3 is incurred as well as the 2.5% platform fee.
You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded.
Q. Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. You will automatically and instantly receive a receipt sent to the email address provided at checkout from the nonprofit receiving your donation. It will include a thank you message and a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. This transaction will appear on your credit card statement as the name of the organization you donated to, with a 22 character limit.
Q. Who will receive my contact information?
The organization(s) you choose to support and OCCF, the host of OC Nonprofit Central, will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit www.ocnonprofitcentral.org on your mobile device.
Q. Can I make a recurring donation?
Yes, you can! You are able to select "Make this a recurring gift" during checkout. You will have options in the dropdown to make your donation "Monthly" or "Quarterly", and for your donation to continue "Until I Cancel It", "Up to a Certain Date", or "Up to a Set Balance".
Q. How can I learn more about an organization that interests me?
To learn more about a specific participating organization, we encourage you to contact the nonprofit directly by accessing the contact information in their profile.
Q. What if my preferred organization is not listed?
