Prevention Services
All For Kids' Prevention services work to create an environment where child abuse, maltreatment, and neglect simply do not occur. We focus our efforts on what we like to call Primary Prevention – strategies directed to the general population that strengthen community and families before maltreatment occurs – to move beyond the concept of child welfare and into the realm of child well-being. Think of immunization instead of treatment for a disease. Understanding the long-term implications of a tumultuous childhood and the vital need for stable relationships early in life, our prevention programs aim to build stronger families and communities by reducing risk factors and increasing Protective Factors. Protective Factors are characteristics that increase the likelihood of positive outcomes for young children and their families and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. By building stronger families and communities, we can prevent abuse and neglect and ensure that the children we serve have bright, healthy futures. Prevention programs include: child development, parent education, individual and family counseling, home visitation, healthy eating, infant health, parent and children support groups, training for other service agencies, and linkage and referral for additional services. Some of our Prevention programs include: - Home Visiting Programs that support new parents - Family Resource Centers that provide holistic, wrap-around care to families - Network Anaheim brings the community together to develop place-based solutions to issues families are facing
The overarching goal of our prevention programs is to ensure children have a safe, nurturing, healthy environment in which they can thrive so that ultimately there is no need for treatment programs. We do this by improving the social supports and resources, family functioning, parenting skills, and child outcomes of families at risk for child abuse and neglect.
Mental Health
Mental Health Program targets young children, adolescents, and their families in Los Angeles County with the goal of eliminating psychiatric conditions that impair the child’s functioning. It includes: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and parent education via outpatient, wraparound and day treatment programs. We aim to help children and families involved, or at risk of involvement, with the Dept. of Children and Family Services to build healthy parent-child relationships, empower families and prevent abuse.

Family Foster Care & Adoption Programs serve children, newborns to 18 years of age. Essential aspects of the program include: recruiting and training Resource Parents; receiving and matching children with a Resource Family; providing and monitoring supervised visits; matching children with adoptive families; conducting pre-adoption home studies and, helping families with the adoption process through finalization with the courts. The program supports children in developing permanent, safe and loving relationships; in meeting developmental milestones; and in overcoming developmental delays.
