A-TiP (After Training Implementation Plan for hotels)

The purpose of the human trafficking After Training Implementation Plan (ATIP) is to assist the Hospitality Industry one property at a time by supporting Policies and Best Practices related to SB970 training. Research indicates that a majority of hotels/motels do not take any procedural steps after training and continue to conduct business as usual. The i-5 Freedom Network has developed ATIP for hotels/motels to effectively collaborate with law enforcement, document/report suspicious activity, apply prevention techniques, and more. ATIP is customized to the individual property by focusing on the specific opportunities and challenges of each department.

Budget
$12,000
Outcomes

Assumption is that collaboration and cooperation between law enforcement and the property is necessary and that reporting plays a critical role in Law Enforcement’s ability to do their job. A-TiP aims to improve hotel preparedness to report trafficking by creating tailored reporting plans for each department and assigning i-5FN points of contact for each hotel to carry out periodical progress checks and be available for questions and issues.
Department plans are as follows:
Housekeeping: Focus is on guest/individual safety and timely reporting of indicators
Front Desk/Sales: Focus is on guest engagement for prevention opportunities and discretion & discernment in reporting
F&B: Focus is on guest engagement to build rapport and documenting and reporting indicators
Security: Focus is on managing and processing of reports
Sales & Catering: Focus is on how to justify denying suspicious group sales inquiries and proper documentation for reporting
Human Resources: Focus is on Implementing hiring practices and working with employment agencies for preventing labor trafficking on property and reporting indicators to appropriate agencies
Managers and Supervisors: Focus is on creating culture that empowers and rewards reporting and developing relationship with local Law Enforcement
