Mission Statement

Our mission is to enrich the educational experience of each child in every school. We achieve this by providing programs, raising funds and uniting the community in support of educational excellence.

Background Statement

Irvine Public Schools Foundation was founded in 1996 to help ensure educational excellence in our public schools. Donations from parents, community, and corporate partners make it possible for us to pursue our mission of enriching the educational experience of each child in every school by providing programs, raising funds, and uniting the community in support of education. Since our founding, IPSF has donated more than $105 million in grants and program support to Irvine Unified School District to benefit our schools and students.

At Irvine Public Schools Foundation, we believe that every student deserves an educational experience complete with access to music, art, and science programs, both during the school day and outside of the classroom. With community support and investment, together we can provide enrichment opportunities for our children that will help foster the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and creators.

Impact Statement

From speech and debate, to cooking and robotics, IPSF afterschool and summer programs provide students with opportunities to discover new interests and pursue passions that would not otherwise be possible. When students are able to think big and follow their dreams, amazing things can happen!

Irvine Public Schools Foundation provides affordable, quality programs for over 15,000 students each year to enrich and expand learning opportunities beyond the classroom, both after school and during the summer. Each program offers need-based scholarship assistance to ensure that all students can participate regardless of their ability to pay. Equitable access to enrichment programs across the district helps to develop well-rounded students and close the achievement gap.

IPSF is proud to donate over $5 million in grants, donations and program support to IUSD each year. These contributions support the people that make our schools special including more teachers and assistants, primary music teachers, mental health staff, and athletic trainers. Funds also support programs that set our schools apart including innovation grants, Science Fair, and Irvine Talks, among others. Parents donations make a positive impact on your child’s education, and with your help, we can continue to support your student and every child in IUSD in meaningful ways!

It takes a diverse and dedicated community to keep education at the leading edge. By leveraging collective resources, IPSF helps to ensure a sustainable model for educational excellence that can endure the volatility of state funding for education. IPSF raises funds to ensure educational equity across the school district, serving each child in every school. Thanks to donations to Irvine Public Schools Foundation, students have opportunities that would not otherwise be possible. A community united in support of education is the difference in Irvine! Your support ensures that students have the resources and opportunities to cultivate their unique talents and reach their fullest potential.

Needs Statement

With state funding for IUSD among the lowest per pupil in the country, over $5,000 less than the national average funding per student, it is truly a team effort to maintain the level of excellence that our students deserve. This significant gap in both federal and state per pupil funding puts IUSD at a disadvantage and jeopardizes critical science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) programs, as well as language arts, humanities and world languages programs. Corporate support, parent contributions, PTAs, and the City of Irvine, all contribute to the district’s ability to pool and leverage resources to benefit students district wide. Funds raised through IPSF help to ensure IUSD remains one of the highest-performing districts in the nation and our students are college and career ready.
