LEAP Reading Intervention Program
For over 20 years, the LEAP Reading Intervention Program has provided individualized literacy instruction and social-emotional support for disadvantaged students in the Tustin Unified School District (TUSD). Recognizing the effectiveness and critical importance of our program, TUSD has requested and we have been able to grow the LEAP Reading Intervention Program in the last 2 years from serving 160 students at 4 school sites to serving 600 students across 6 Title I School sites.
Our vision is to break the perpetual cycle of illiteracy and poverty by developing attitudes and behaviors that promote success in school, instill a strong work ethic, and create new paths for a bright and promising future. Our long-term goal is for 100% of LEAP students to finish high school at a minimum and ideally go on to pursue higher education.
