PROGRAMS
Immigration Law
The Immigration Unit helps immigrants who are survivors of domestic violence and crime victims navigate the legal system to ensure clients can live without constant fear of removal. We provide legal services related to: VAWA self-petitions, T visas, U visas, naturalization, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, adjustment of status, cancellation of removal, removal defense, and asylum applications.

Housing Defense
The Housing Unit provides assistance to low-income community members so they have access to safe, affordable housing and are able to remain secure in their homes. We provide legal services in the following areas: eviction defense, publicly subsidized housing, substandard housing, landlord/tenant issues, and housing discrimination.

Family Law
The Family Law Unit ensures that clients, many of whom are survivors of domestic violence, have the resources they need to provide safety and security for themselves and their children. We provide legal assistance in the following areas: restraining orders, divorce, child custody, visitations, support, paternity, and guardianship.

Access to Healthcare
CLA SoCal’s Health Consumer Action Center helps Orange County residents and families get the health care services they need, and at the same time works to identify and address systemic health care issues impacting local community members. We provide assistance with the following health care programs: Covered California, Cal Medi-Connect (OneCare Connect), Medi-Cal (CalOptima), Medicare, Medical Safety Net Program, and private health insurance plans. We are also the Ombudsman for the OneCare Connect plan in Orange County.

Economic Maintenance
The Economic Maintenance Unit supports families and individuals facing financial hardship to relieve client debt, ensure clients receive the benefits they are entitled to, and increase economic stability. We provide assistance in the following areas: government benefits, consumer debt relief, employment issues, bankruptcy, expungement, loans, unemployment benefits, and utilities.
