Public School Defenders Hub

The "Hub" is a coalition of pro-education organizations committed to defending public schools against the detrimental impacts of anti-public education forces. We have an Advisory Committee comprised of twelve established regional leaders in public education and we hold bimonthly Advisors conferences. We host a digital Rapid Response network platform for local advocates to request and receive referrals, resources, and support. We offer quarterly, lawyer-led, in person and virtual online school board Monitors & Observers trainings to prepare volunteers for holding boards accountable. We also host a website Resource Library with free access to information and tools. Our program conducts biannual coalition conferences and free, attorney-led training for volunteer school board monitors and observers. We produce and disseminate counter-disinformation messaging and public education information through Social Media. We conduct ad-hoc information-gathering and vital communication/transparency about current topics such as county schools implementation compliance with state mandated education programs. Some of our over 40+ regional and statewide coalition partners and supporters include SoCal ACLU, Equality CA, Association of CA School Administrators, CA Association of School Counselors, Asian Americans in Action, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Anti-Defamation League Orange County/Long Beach, Diversify our Narrative-student voice, PEN America, NEA/CA Federation of Teachers, Women for American Values & Ethics (WAVE), and several others.
