PROGRAMS

Early Intervention Therapy Services (ages 0-3 years):

Offered at both our Buena Park and Temecula locations, these services include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, assistive technology usage, educational services, behavioral modification, and nutrition services.

Budget
$2,600,000
Outcomes

Early interventions give children the best chance of facilitating positive developmental outcomes, particularly in domains such as language, social skills, and cognitive abilities (U.S. National Institutes of Health). Children who receive early intervention are more likely to attend regular education classes and have higher rates of employment in adulthood. They are also less likely to require support services later in life.

Education Program (K-12+ Non-Public School, ages 5-22 years):

Our Buena Park non-public school provides California standards-based curriculum for our students with IDD, designed with specialized approaches and program enhancements to meet the unique learning needs of our student population. Our school program is certified by the California Department of Education and is recognized as a School of Excellence by the National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC). Each student has an individualized education plan, which encompasses all basic academic curricula such as math, reading, science, arts, social science, and history. In addition, SLDC offers adaptive education courses, art and media programs, and vocational and job skills training.

Budget
$14,000,000
Outcomes

Long-term success is defined by enabling each student to achieve their potential. Each student has an individualized education plan (IEP) that defines his or her short- and long-term educational goals. Goals also include activities of daily living, independence, communication, socialization, job-readiness and more. Long-term success is completely individualized and as unique as each Linden Oaks student is.

Adult Day Program (ages 22-40 years):

Located in Buena Park, this program offers a range of services for adults Monday through Friday, focusing on core concepts of independent living, social skills, community access, personal health, vocational skills, and money management.

Budget
$730,000
Outcomes

Long-term success may be defined as preparing the student for such things as employment in the community, how to use public transportation, how to manage their paycheck, enrollment in college, and other indicators of increased self-sufficiency.
