Most workforce development programs focus primarily on helping unemployed individuals secure a job. Far fewer programs are designed to support low-income workers who are already employed but need guidance, structure, and skill development to increase their income and advance their careers. Step Forward Academy fills that gap. Our model equips partner organizations to support their beneficiaries with a structured career development program that strengthens both soft skills and hard skills. We begin by building a strong foundation through essential soft skills, including: Career clarity and personal strengths Time management and goal setting Financial management and budgeting Resume development and interview preparation Once these fundamentals are established, participants are guided to develop hard skills aligned with career pathways that increase their market value and earning potential. By combining coaching, structured curriculum, and practical skill development, Step Forward Academy helps individuals not just get a job but grow in their career, increase income, and move toward long-term financial sustainability.
