PROGRAMS
Group Education & Prevention Programs
Turning Point’s Group Education & Prevention Programs offer psychoeducational and support groups focused on parenting, anger management, substance abuse education, teen life skills, and other prevention-based topics. These groups are designed to provide early intervention, increase awareness, and build practical skills that promote emotional well-being and healthy decision-making.
Participants in the Group Education & Prevention Programs gain improved self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, and coping strategies. The court-approved courses also offer individuals an opportunity to reflect, learn new skills, and make more constructive choices moving forward. The programs empower individuals and families to make healthier choices, reduce risk behaviors, and contribute to long-term personal growth and stronger families and healthier communities.
Affordable Community Counseling
Turning Point’s Affordable Community Counseling Center in Costa Mesa provides low-cost, bilingual therapy services to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. The center addresses a wide range of mental health concerns—including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, and relationship issues—ensuring accessible, culturally responsive care for underserved populations.
As a result of receiving services through the Community Counseling Center, clients report reduced symptoms of distress, improved emotional and relational well-being, and increased coping skills. The program helps strengthen families, enhance individual resilience, and promote mental health equity within the broader community.
School-Based Counseling Services
Turning Point’s School-Based Counseling Services provide on-site individual and group therapy to K–12 students at more than 45 school campuses across Orange and Los Angeles Counties. By delivering services during the school day, the program helps students address emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges in real time, reducing barriers to access and supporting overall well-being and school success.
As a result of participating in School-Based Counseling Services, students demonstrate improved emotional regulation, reduced behavioral issues, increased academic engagement, and greater overall school functioning. By supporting the mental health needs of students within their educational environment, the program also fosters stronger school-family partnerships and contributes to broader community wellness through early intervention and accessible care.
