OUR STORY

Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, Inc., was created with love (Ahavah means love in Hebrew) for the international community and to advance educational equity and stand for immigration justice by ensuring that international students have the opportunity to pursue higher education in the U.S. We advocate for equality, remove barriers to enrollment, and empower students to thrive academically and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

National data reveals a significant decline in international student enrollments, with a drop of approximately 17% for the Fall 2025 intake. This represents one of the steepest declines in new arrivals outside the pandemic period. The situation is even more concerning, as only 42.8% of international applicants are accepted. However, a staggering 88% of those admitted fail to enroll. This is not due to a lack of merit, but rather to the inability to overcome the final financial barriers.

The enrollment decline has been especially significant among students from India, nations across Africa, and Latin America regions rich in talent, resilience, and future global leaders.

The barriers are not academic. They are financial:

•Visa and immigration fees

•F-1 student visa processing and embassy appointments

•International travel and relocation costs

•Housing deposits

•Mandatory pre-arrival enrollment expenses

Acceptance letters in hand, financial barriers stand as obstacles.

The students most impacted are often from underserved and indigenous communities. These young leaders carry not only personal ambitions but also the hopes of entire families. When they are unable to enroll, the consequences are generational.

Ahavah Rising Stars exists to close the gap between

“You’re accepted.”

and

“Welcome to your first day of class.”

Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation was born from a question that would not leave my heart:

Where is the justice in this?

Each year, talented international students earn admission to U.S. universities many receiving academic or athletic scholarships. Yet most never arrive on campus.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director

As the CEO and founder of Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, I have the privilege of working at the intersection of talent, opportunity, and global impact. Each year, I witness exceptional international students earn admission to U.S. universities. These students possess the intelligence, drive, and leadership potential to thrive in today’s global economy. However, their futures are often placed on hold due to financial and logistical barriers beyond their control.

Many of these students come from underserved and indigenous communities in India, Africa, and Latin America. Their acceptance into U.S. institutions represents far more than personal achievement. It is the culmination of years of resilience and sacrifice, and the promise of long-term impact for families, communities, and future generations. These students are tomorrow’s innovators, educators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.

At Ahavah Rising Stars, we believe that access to education is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic investment in global talent. I am driven by love for humanity and the conviction that when opportunity is aligned with potential, the results are transformative. No student’s future should be determined by their zip code or their family’s income.

However, for many gifted students, a relatively small financial gap such as a housing requirement or visa-related expense, can stand between acceptance and enrollment. These students have already proven themselves academically but face the devastating reality of turning down life-changing opportunities despite being fully qualified to succeed.
We view every student we serve as a high-impact investment. With the right support, guidance, and mentorship, they excel academically, contribute meaningfully to their institutions, and prepare for leadership in a global workforce. As Mother Teresa wisely said, “Each of us has the potential to make a difference in someone else’s life.” At Ahavah Rising Stars, driven by love, we turn this possibility into action. We provide financial support to the college, F-1 visa guidance, mentorship, and community engagement to help students successfully transition from acceptance to enrollment.

My role as a steward of opportunity involves working alongside partners who recognize that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration. Every student empowered through our work becomes a rising star: strengthening families, uplifting communities, and adding diverse, globally informed perspectives to the future workforce.

Your partnership enables us to scale this impact. By investing in Ahavah Rising Stars, your organization directly supports educational access, global equity, and leadership development while aligning with values of diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility. Together, we can transform potential into performance, access into achievement, and opportunity into long-term impact.

Your support will be the reason for acceptance to enrollment for many international students. By working together, we can ensure that no rising star is left behind.

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

Statement from the Board Chair/President

Let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth.”
(1 John 3:18)

Let us not express our love through mere words or speech, but through tangible actions and genuine sincerity.

For the first time in history, international student enrollment in the United States has reached an unprecedented low.

This decline is not due to a lack of student abilities, but rather to the increasing financial barriers that are closing doors to opportunities.

At Ahavah Rising Stars Foundation, we firmly believe that love has the power to open doors. We believe that love is not a passive emotion; it is a dynamic force that drives change.

The name “Ahavah” holds deep significance in Hebrew, as it embodies the essence of love. Our organization is dedicated to assisting international students in transitioning from the stage of acceptance to the stage of support and ultimately, enrollment.

When financial barriers stand in the way of students’ progress, faith compels us to take action and provide support.

Your generosity becomes a source of provision, and your obedience becomes a catalyst for opportunity.
