Background Statement
The Balboa Island Museum Newport Beach was founded with the mission to document, preserve and promote the history and culture of Balboa Island, Newport Beach, and Orange County. Admission is FREE so that everyone can enjoy! It is the only historical museum devoted to collecting, conserving, and presenting this local history and culture.
Impact Statement
The installation of a 130 ft. exhibit at the John Wayne Airport, Expansion of exhibits at the Newport Beach Central Library, and our new movie "Newport and Me": Seymour Beek featured at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
The Museum continues to be a gathering place for locals and travelers from all over the world.
Needs Statement
Funds for operating budget, expansion of exhibits, development of Education programs, filming of Oral Histories and permanent building to have as a forever home.

We serve all of Orange County communities including Newport Beach, Irvine, Tustin, Costa Mesa, and surrounding communities.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
Featuring exhibits on the community traditions of surfing, fishing, The Wedge, and more. The Museum delivers a unique educational experience for residents and visitors alike. In addition, the Museum offers instructive presentations for children. The Museum proudly supports the work of local artists, curating exclusive exhibitions and merchandise.

The Balboa Island Museum has become a favorite destination for residents and visitors. People enjoy learning about the history and the unique culture of Newport Beach, Balboa Island and surrounding communities. We serve the community by providing unique events and experiences all year round. The Museum has become a visitor resource center as well as a gathering place for residents and guests. People enjoy learning about the past and exploring the furture.
