Sacred Solidarity: Campaigns that improve the lives of poverty-wage workers
Campaigns are locally-led by low-wage workers (overwhelmingly women and immigrants). Campaigns help create safe workplaces, free of exploitation, where workers and their families have healthcare they can afford and wages that support them. Clergy and community members offer courage and encouragement for our marginalized siblings to persist in their struggles for justice.
CLUE’s network has supported campaigns that have brought dignity, justice, and better working conditions to more than 5,000 OC workers in the last two years. These include essential workers in healthcare, grocery, retail, and hospitality. We've also supported OC bus drivers, academic student employees, sheetmetal, and Starbucks workers. When we stand in solidarity lifting up the struggles of these workers, they win what they deserve: the right to thrive.
OC Interfaith Racial Justice: Creating communities that care
CLUE's OC Interfaith Racial Justice Netowrk connects clergy and leaders of faith to BIPOC-led community organizations seeking dignity, safety, and justice. Campaigns in the past year have helped establish Little Arabia community designation, Santa Ana police oversight, and build allyship with marginalized communities. CLUE members build relationships that can be activated when needed. CLUE is currently leading an interfaith network aimed at correcting centuries of injustice for our Black siblings by supporting recommendations from California's 2022 Reparations Task Force.
- Partnerships with 40+ community-based organizations
- A newly launched Interfaith Racial Justice Network with 99 members
- Allyship with campaigns for Little Arabia, police oversight in OC, hot food in jails, and more
Rising Religious Leaders: Investing in the next generation of Faith-Rooted Organizers
Two programs promote faith-rooted community organizing: Young Religious Leaders Fellowship (for students) and Faith-Rooted Organizing Cohort (for professionals). More than 50 new leaders have been equipped to work for justice in OC
