PROGRAMS
STEM & Environmental Education
Crystal Cove Conservancy’s STEM and environmental education programs immerse K-12 students in investigating real conservation questions at Crystal Cove State Park. As students collect data for ongoing research projects designed in partnership with local scientists and engineers, they become inspired as environmental stewards and gain 21st century skills.
1. Students gain knowledge and experience that will help them on the way to becoming scientifically literate adults.
2. Teachers receive support to help them meet their classroom curriculum goals by providing their students with authentic field experiences that engage them in science and engineering practices.
3. Students contribute data to ongoing research and monitoring projects, helping to inform park management decisions.
Conservation
As the nonprofit partner of Crystal Cove State Park, Crystal Cove Conservancy supports the Park’s broader conservation efforts. As well as contributing to conservation efforts through our education programs, we also operate stewardship volunteer programs to assist with restoration and monitoring, raise funds to continue priority habitat restoration projects, and operate two internship programs to introduce high school and university students to natural resource careers.
1. Create a fully restored and sustainable Crystal Cove State Park, which will be preserved and protected for generations to come.
2. Support on-the-ground restoration and ecological monitoring work.
3. Inspire the next generation of natural resource professionals through experiential internship programs.
