Veteran Services
The overall goal of our Veteran Services programs is to provide veteran resources and employment services in Orange County to veterans and their families. The Tierney Center is achieving this through creating strategic partnerships with government/local entities, educational institutions, local businesses/employers, and other community-based organizations. The strength of the Tierney Center program model is the leveraged resources within Goodwill of Orange County's vast network of employers and community partners.
1. Outreaching, peer navigating, and referring to resources;
2. Placing veterans that were unemployed and underemployed into careers;
3. Identifying veterans and collecting and circulating program data;
4. Increasing community integration, collaboration, and leadership;
5. Providing funds to partner organizations through sub-grants and emergency funds
Assistive Technology Exchange Center (ATEC)
Our Assistive Technology Exchange Center (ATEC) provides technological solutions to enable and empower individuals to increase their independence and functional capabilities at school, home or in the workplace. As a comprehensive assistive technology program, we provide a variety of services, including assessment and training, consultation and technical support, as well as equipment installation, delivery and repair. ATEC is also a Device Lending and Demonstration Center through Ability Tools that provides free, short-term AT device loans and reuse that help people live independently. Items available for loan include low- and high-tech communication devices, magnifiers, mobility devices, computer access equipment and more.

Workforce Development
Goodwill provides on-the-job training for program participants to learn specific vocational skills and work environment behaviors, in order to prepare them for competitive part-or-full-time employment in the community. Individuals select work environments that match their abilities and interests. Goodwill Case Managers and Supervisors provide appropriate guidance during training, emphasizing safety, quality control, production and attendance. Some on-the-job training may lead straight into employment. Additionally, Goodwill provides day program services that may include work activity services.
1. Implementing positive behavioral supports to assist individuals with achieving a higher level of independence
2. Provide non-paid internships in a variety of work experiences
3. Enable individuals to increase their independence at school, home, or in the workplace by providing the best technological solution for their individual needs
4. Assist Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants with the skills needed to become more independent
5. Provide training in the areas of safety skills, purchasing skills and self-advocacy
