Jose Hernandez Mariachi Academy
Our After-School Mariachi Program offers students a creative outlet to connect deeply with cultural traditions while building strong musical foundations. Far more than a music class, this collaborative ensemble instills confidence, fosters cross-grade friendships, and bridges cultural identity through the power of song. Students learn the history, technique, and vocal expression of iconic regional styles, preparing them for exciting community performances throughout the year.
The Jose Hernandez Mariachi Academy successfully advanced its mission of youth empowerment by delivering high-quality, after-school music instruction to 41 schools across four school districts. Driven by strong community demand, the Academy secured partnerships to expand into three additional schools next season. To sustain this momentum and maintain educational excellence, we are seeking philanthropic investments to increase our instructional staff and enrich our specialized curriculum, ensuring every new and returning student receives top-tier cultural and musical education.
Mariachi Nationals Summer institue
Celebrating 15 years of musical excellence, our premier summer institute brings together passionate students from across the country for elite music instruction from world-class mariachi masters. Over three intensive days, participants will sharpen their vocal and instrumental skills, learn authentic performance techniques, and connect with a vibrant community of musicians. The event culminates in a thrilling national competition where students showcase their talent on stage to compete for prestigious trophies, cash awards, and prizes. Whether you want to refine your artistry or claim the championship title, this milestone year is your chance to shine.
The Mariachi Nationals Summer Institute successfully concluded its intensive 3-day music workshop. The event fostered cultural preservation, advanced musical artistry, and built community among next-generation musicians.
