Art + Nature
Art + Nature is an annual initiative that brings together thousands of participants to foster a love of nature, raise environmental awareness and discover cross-sections between science and the arts. As an immersive journey into the symbiotic relationship between art and the natural world, Art + Nature addresses the environmental situation through a creative and unique lens – the artist’s perspective.
Outcome 1: By March 31, 2025, commission at least two new artworks that celebrate the connection between Art + Nature and help visitors understand the importance of environmental stewardship. Outcome 2: Engage 20,000 museum visitors and online participants in Art + Nature exhibitions and programs that increase their awareness of environmental issues and deepen their understanding of the art-nature connection.
Creative Foundations Program
Laguna Art Museum serves Orange County’s low-income students through museum tours and arts education. By removing the barrier of cost and providing transportation to the Museum, the Creative Foundations Program ensures that children and families with limited economic resources have access to art education that provides a foundational understanding of art, culture, and their own artistic expression.
The goal of the Creative Foundations Program is to engage traditionally underserved audiences through free educational art programs that serve students and families. Outcomes include:
1. By July 2025, provide cultural and artistic experiences that build content skills and increase 4,000 TK-12 Title I students’ understanding of art and culture.
2. By July 2025, at least 80% of Teachers will report that the Creative Foundations Program has enhanced the classroom curriculum.
