Background Statement
We believe no one should go hungry. The Laguna Food Pantry operates as the only food pantry open five days per week in the immediate area. Food is an essential human need. No one should have to choose between paying the rent or feeding their loved ones. Originally created to provide food and other needs to residents affected by the 1993 fires; it also provided relief to flood victims in 2011. In 2012, the organization evolved into the Laguna Food Pantry. A predominantly volunteer-run organization, doing what it does best: giving away free, nutritious groceries to those in need.
Impact Statement
Laguna Food Pantry provides free groceries to an average of 250 families per day. Families who use LFP face trying financial choices with their limited financial resources. Over 4,300 families and individuals depend on Laguna Food Pantry, and this number is growing.
Needs Statement
The detrimental effect of the pandemic on food insecurity is still present, with no certainty of when it will improve. Inflation has increased the demand for Laguna Food Pantry's services. To continue purchasing groceries, the Laguna Food Pantry's mission-critical need for the foreseeable future is financial support. Monetary gifts ensure all groceries have fresh and nutritious items such as produce, milk, eggs, and meat.
As a predominately volunteer-run organization, the Laguna Food Pantry is always looking for more volunteers. LFP offers many different volunteer opportunities for those who want to get involved. Volunteer drivers are especially needed to help with our grocery rescue program. Please reach out if interested in helping.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
At Laguna Food Pantry, everyone is welcome. We respect privacy and human dignity. Laguna Food Pantry's facility in Laguna Canyon is filled with groceries and good cheer. Hundreds of families drive through each week in need and leave with nourishment and hope. It is the organization's intention to never turn anyone away and to provide a positive experience.
Statement from the Board Chair/President
Laguna Food Pantry "rescues" about 100,000 pounds of groceries from local groceries each month. These groceries would otherwise be discarded and end up in landfills. The groceries are overstock, slightly damaged or near expiration, but perfectly edible. The rescued groceries are offered for free to families and individuals in need along with purchased produce, eggs, milk, and protein to provide a nutritious choice for families. We believe no one should go hungry.
