Mission Statement

Linc Housing’s mission is to build communities and strengthen neighborhoods for people underserved by the marketplace.

Background Statement

Linc Housing creates communities for thousands of families and seniors throughout California. We are committed to building housing that is affordable, aesthetically appealing, and a catalyst for community improvement. Our Linc Resident Services programs offer a range of services that improve the quality of life for our residents.

Linc approaches affordable housing in a multi-faceted way by implementing the following strategies:
• Build new affordable housing
• Preserve existing affordable housing
• Develop and retrofit for sustainability
• Provide supportive services
• Advocate for strong affordable housing policy

Impact Statement

We envision communities in which residents live full, healthy, prosperous lives, unbound by the current predictors and restrictions of race, gender,
mobility, and class. We focus on economic progress, financial empowerment, and civic engagement, so that the residents who have found a home at
Linc can prosper holistically. In supporting those most affected by disparities, we can build a more equitable and effective system for everyone. We
aspire to be an organization that instills pride by association, to lead by example, and to stand behind our decisions and actions.

Needs Statement

The housing affordability and homelessness crises persist across California. As a result, 78% of extremely low-income households are paying over half of their income on housing costs (CHPC, 2022). Under these conditions, people are often forced to live in overcrowded or unsafe apartments, risk choosing between basic healthcare needs or paying rent, suffer from food insecurity, struggle to afford transportation, have additional barriers to pursuing academic achievement, and are at higher risk of homelessness. To address this issue, for 40 years, Linc has been committed to building affordable and supportive housing and providing services for low-income families, seniors, and special needs populations.

This commitment has positively impacted the lives of thousands of Californians and created a ripple effect of change throughout communities. When individuals and families have access to affordable housing with relevant services, they experience increased stability, improved mental and physical health, a greater sense of security, and enhanced opportunities and quality of life that may not otherwise be available.
