CEO/Executive Director Experience

Lina Lumme immigrated to the U.S. in 2003 and has since become a dedicated leader in nonprofit organizations. As Executive Director/CEO of The Youth Center since 2010, Lina has expanded programs that support local youth and families. Under her leadership, The Youth Center was recognized as a Top Workspace by Homebase, reflecting her commitment to staff and volunteer mentorship, professional development, and program quality. Lina holds certifications in Volunteer Management, Executive Leadership, and Nonprofit Management. She has served on the Boards of Precious Life Shelter, Los Alamitos Education Foundation, P4S Family Resource Center, and Rotary of Los Alamitos/Seal Beach. Her leadership has earned numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from NPDOC (2010), recognition from LAUSD for her work with the Every 15 Minutes Program (2015), and acknowledgments from Senator Nguyen and the U.S. Congress (2017). In 2020, she received an Honorary Service Award from the LAUSD PTA Council and was named Woman of the Year by the California State Assembly in 2022. In 2024, The Youth Center was named a Great Nonprofit, and Lina was recognized for her leadership and dedication to youth services by Los Alamitos Unified School District and U.S. Congress. Lina's work continues to make a lasting impact on the community, shaping the next generation through her unwavering dedication to youth development and nonprofit excellence.
