PROGRAMS
South Laguna Community Garden Park
The South Laguna Community Garden Park offers educational workshops throughout the year for adults and children. Topics include:Pruning for healthy and beautiful plants; The magic of miniature gardens, Tomatoes 101, Grow food using less waster. Two ongoing children's workshops include parents and children, meeting weekly, one for pre-school children and one for school-age children.
We believe our long-term success will be helping other community groups establish community gardens in their neighborhoods. We share our experiences and provide advice and help to people and groups in other communities and neighborhoods to help them establish their own community garden.
South Laguna Community Garden Park site acquisition
The site of the Community Garden Park is privately owned. For years we have been raising funds to acquire the property, and have $1.1 million in donations and pledges. The property is for sale for the first time since 2013 and we hope to arrange a purchase so that the Garden Park will be a permanent amenity and asset for the public.
The South Laguna Community Garden Park will permanently be a welcoming green space that educates about healthy food and environmental care, builds community and neighborliness, and serves as a park for viewing, picnicking, and holding musical performances, community gatherings and classes.
