CEO/Executive Director Experience
Dan Goldbacher graduated from Bloomsburg University of PA with a degree in Environmental Planning. Dan Goldbacher is a lifelong conservationist, educator, and nonprofit leader with a passion for protecting wildlife and connecting people to the natural world. As Executive Director of the Orange County Bird of Prey Center (OCBPC), Dan brings more than a decade of experience in environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation, and community engagement to the organization’s mission of rescuing and rehabilitating native raptors across Southern California. Dan’s journey began in New Jersey, where a childhood encounter with a bald eagle on the Mullica River ignited a lifelong fascination with birds of prey. He went on to earn a degree in Geography with a focus on Environmental Planning from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and has held key roles at the Bureau of Land Management, Springs Preserve, and the Ocean Institute. Since joining OCBPC in 2024, Dan has focused on strengthening programs, building community partnerships, and advancing public education to ensure raptors and their habitats are protected for generations to come. Under his leadership, the Center continues to expand its impact, offering wildlife education programs to tens of thousands each year while providing critical care to injured hawks, owls, falcons, and eagles.
