CEO/Executive Director Experience
Heather Spickard returned to the Board in 2025, after previously singing with the group since 2012 and serving on the Board several times since 2014, primarily focusing on Fundraising and Development. As a senior Ops and IT Engineer, Heather focuses on process improvement and user-centered IT architecture. She is currently co-chairing the Board with Katrina Veldkamp, and will assume the sole presidency in 2026. Katrina Veldkamp was elected to the Board in 2019. She was named President-elect in 2022 – 2023, and assumed the role of President on July 1, 2023. She is a partner with Boutwell Fay, LLP, advising private and public sector clients in employee benefits, retirement, and health plan compliance. She has extensive experience drafting retirement plans and health and welfare plans, and counsels clients on HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, and applicable state and local laws. Katrina is a Southern California native and a double Bruin – she has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Juris Doctor from UCLA.
