Elizabeth Hansburg

CEO/Executive Director Experience

Elizabeth Hansburg co-founded People for Housing OC with two other Orange County residents after attending the SCAG California Housing Summit in October of 2016, where she learned about the housing shortage and the Yes In My Backyard (YIMBY) movement. Since January 2017, she has led the grassroots YIMBY effort in OC to build public support for new affordable and attainable housing opportunities. In her role as the Executive Director of P4H, she promotes the organization’s mission to create more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous Orange County communities where everyone can find a safe, stable, and affordable home. Prior to her housing advocacy work, Elizabeth worked as a project consultant on outreach programs for public infrastructure projects by transportation planning agencies, including LA Metro, Gateway Cities Council of Governments, SCAG, and others. Elizabeth is originally from Pennsylvania where she spent several years working in State Government providing landuse planning technical assistance to local governments. Elizabeth holds a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the College of Wooster in Ohio.
