Education for Youth

Project Access’s After-School Programs, Teen Programs, and College & Career Readiness Program work to level the playing field for low-income students by removing the barriers of transportation and cost that often limit access to quality academic support and enrichment activities. These free, year-round programs offer a safe and supportive environment where children can receive one-on-one tutoring, enjoy a healthy snack, connect with peers, get homework help, and participate in a wide variety of enrichment experiences. Each component of the program is designed to meet the holistic needs of the child, building a strong foundation for success both in the classroom and in life. Our programs help close the opportunity gap in low-income neighborhoods by offering comprehensive out-of-classroom educational support, guiding youth toward academic success and beyond. Additionally, we provide valuable resources and support for parents and caregivers, with the ultimate goal of fostering resilience and success for both youth and their families. Core Services & Activities: - School Readiness: Parent & Me classes, Early Literacy classes - After-School Program: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), STEAM activities, Homework Assistance, Enrichment Activities - Teen Program: Teen/Tween Club, Leadership Workshops - College & Career Readiness: College Advising/Counseling, College Field Trips - Parent/Caregiver Education: Parenting Workshops These services create a comprehensive support system, ensuring youth and their families have the tools and resources needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Economic Stability

Project Access empowers families in low-income communities with the resources and support they need to transform their lives, achieve self-sufficiency, and maintain their well-being. Our programs act as a vital safety net, ensuring that individuals and families receive critical support during the toughest times. Many of the families we serve face the challenge of balancing healthcare, education, and housing expenses on limited incomes, making it incredibly difficult for adults to achieve economic stability and for parents to actively engage in their children’s academic success. To address these challenges, Project Access provides targeted services designed to help families overcome the barriers of living well below the area median income. The Economic Stability Program focuses on creating pathways to financial independence by enhancing job search skills, improving technology access, and fostering better financial planning and decision-making for the future. Core Services & Activities: - Financial Literacy Education (for adults and youth) - Employment Assistance, including job readiness workshops, job search support, resume and application assistance, interview preparation, and more - Technology workshops to enhance digital literacy - Support for second language acquisition and GED/vocational training By providing these essential services, we give families the tools to build a better financial future and break the cycle of poverty.
