PROGRAMS
SHACC Digital Media
SHACC uses new social and business media as part of its outreach program.
To expand our presence on the web to allow us to reach people all over the world.
Educational Outreach
Since 2007, the SHACC continues hosted and individual tours of extensive historic surfboard archive and photo collection to students and surfing enthusiasts. Programs conducted by our trained docents and teachers can be arranged for students at all grade levels on surfing's heritage and surfcraft history. SHACC has even hosted a number of college level student field trips as well. This committee develops curriculum for the educational community in California and beyond.
To build a curriculum approved course that can be offered at the local high schools with field trips to SHACC.
Photo Digitizing/Archiving
Build and maintain an archive of the history of the sport and culture of wave riding as recorded by photography.
To become the "Smithsonian" of surf photography.
Quarterly Exhibitions
SHACC has a temporary exhibition area where we rotate 4 different exhibits related to surf culture every year. As SHACC has members that receive free admission and is open to the public we like to keep interest of our followers by changing the rotating surf culture exhibit quarterly.
Ideally once an exhibit closes at SHACC we would like to be able to have it travel around the world to widen our audience and share surf culture with the world.
