After graduating from Indiana University, Lisa moved west from her home state to pursue a career in the apparel and textile industry. Her experience as a volunteer at a camp for teens in foster care opened her eyes to the enormous challenges faced by these young people. Determined to help prepare these teens for productive and fulfilling futures, Lisa left her 17-year career as a buyer for major global retailers to launch the Teen Leadership Foundation (TLF) in 2007. In the course of developing TLF, she has become a leading adviser to churches and community organizations nationwide on outreach to teenagers in foster care and emancipated youth, including the development of housing programs. Lisa is also a frequent speaker on issues of foster care and adoption, and she sits on various nonprofit boards and advocacy teams.
