Banking on Our Youth (BOY)
The mission of Banking on Our Youth (BOY) is to help the youth of Orange County improve their understanding of financial concepts and services and empower them to make right decisions that will positively impact their financial well-being. BOY gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to participate in an eight-month program that is taught by program staff, local business and community partners. The program gives students the opportunity to hear and learn how financial principles play out in real-life businesses and local organizations. Templo Calvario Community Development Corporation (TCCDC) believes that for those young people who participate and graduate from the program, life will be better due to the knowledge and practices they will acquire. Not only will students gain knowledge that will benefit them on a daily basis, but they will also build relationships that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Increased Number of Youth Exhibiting Growth in Financial Health – historically 90% of youth report that the program equips them with the knowledge and skills to make wise financial decisions
Increased Youth in Business Sector – historically, 85% of youth report that the program increased their knowledge of how to incorporate financial concepts in business development and we anticipate a significant majority of BOY alumni to participate in the Orange County workforce
More Youth Pursuing Higher Learning – the majority of our participants not only graduate from the BOY program but also from high school and go on to pursue higher education opportunities
Increased Impact on Orange County Youth – As a result of our BOY program, TCCDC will be one resource in the collective impact pool supporting and empowering Orange County youth
Mobilizing Faith
The Kingdom Group is a network of pastors, church, and community leaders united to be a prophetic voice as we engage in ministry among the families in Orange County. We seek to respond to the burdens of the area, including reducing poverty, improving education access, and reducing barriers that limit parental involvement in their children’s lives and the systems that impact their lives. We seek to accomplish this through unity among the churches, fervent and committed prayer, and coordinated activities that unify our voice for Kingdom Values around the daily needs facing our families and children.
Unite and mobilize leaders in Orange County around the issues that affect our city, to be relevant in the life of the city through strategic partnerships that bring real and tangible transformation to the city.

Legado Academy
Legado Academy is a comprehensive program designed to help families achieve financial stability and build long-term resilience. By addressing financial stressors, the program equips participants with tools for generational financial health and stability. TCCDC’s Legado Academy begins with a 13-week peer-to-peer parent training model that fosters personal empowerment and financial literacy, leading to improved economic stability for adults and better behavioral and academic outcomes for their children. This is followed by ongoing financial literacy education, case management, and financial coaching, ensuring participants have continued support and access to essential resources. The goal of Legado Academy is to break the cycle of poverty by delivering evidence-based parent training and financial education that equip those in need in our community with the education and tools to build a better future for themselves and their families.

Empowered Scholars
The Empowered Scholars Program is an afterschool program that aims to provide critical academic enrichment, social support, and physical activity to students at EBC. Empowered Scholars provides families with an abundance of help and resources—including homework assistance and reading support, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) enrichment, social emotional learning (SEL), snacks, and much more. Program staff work closely with EBC staff to create and deliver developmentally appropriate education and activities that incorporate physical activity and social-emotional learning to meet the holistic needs of the children. The program also strengthens the bridge between school, parents, and the community to provide a pathway for students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds to remain on track towards pursing higher education. Delivered by TCCDC in close partnership with EBC, the Empowered Scholars Program capitalizes on the school’s resources as well as TCCDC’s wraparound support services to provide a safe and supportive environment that provides for the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of students. The overall goal of the Empowered Scholars Program is to advance equity in education and halt the widening achievement gap among students from economically marginalized backgrounds in Santa Ana. To achieve this goal, Empowered Scholars provides families with important resources including homework assistance, STEAM enrichment, and healthy, nutritional snacks.
As a result of their participation in the Empowered Scholars Program, TCCDC anticipates the following outcomes for students:
