The HUB OC
OUR STORY
Meeting the physical, relational, and emotional needs of Orange County and the world for spiritual transformation.
Mission Statement
Meeting the physical, relational, and emotional needs of Orange County and the world for spiritual transformation.
Background Statement
The Hub OC officially launched in 2019 by taking over the operations of the Youth Centers of Orange (YCO), which had long been providing youth programming at city parks and community center buildings. What began as inherited programs quickly expanded into a robust network of after-school and enrichment services.
In 2021, The Hub expanded by opening Full Circle Marketplace, a thrift store designed to generate revenue for the Youth Centers of Orange while offering free essentials and job training to those in need. It also became a launchpad for local entrepreneurs and students gaining real-world experience.
The following year, in 2022, The Hub was asked by the City of Orange to address homelessness head-on. In partnership with the City of Orange, the Hub Resource Center (HRC) was opened! What began as a place for hot meals and showers now serves over 2,200 people each month, providing food, hygiene, clothing distribution, case management, and housing navigation. Since opening, the HRC has helped more than 600 people secure shelter and housing.
In 2024, The Hub turned its attention to families with young children, opening the Hub Early Learning Program, a zero-barrier co-op preschool that now serves 15 children and their families. The same year, The Hub launched its Hub Community Centers in an affordable housing community, offering tutoring, ESL, a community garden, financial literacy, and parenting support, all aimed at building stronger, more resilient families.
Today, The Hub OC is a thriving, multi-program organization grounded in faith, compassion, and community. With five core programs working together, and partnerships across city, school, and nonprofit sectors, The Hub is creating real, lasting change, one life, one family, and one neighborhood at a time.
Impact Statement
At The Hub OC, we believe that transformational change happens when communities are equipped with the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through our five interconnected programs, we serve thousands of individuals and families annually, meeting critical needs and building pathways to long-term stability.
Youth Centers of Orange (YCO) provides over 219,000 student hours of after-school and summer programming annually to more than 400 children and teens, promoting academic success, emotional resilience, and leadership development.
The Hub Resource Center (HRC) delivers essential services to over 2,200 individuals each month, including 125,000 meals, 50,000 showers, and 12,000 laundry loads annually, while helping more than 600 individuals transition into shelter or permanent housing.
The Hub Early Learning Program serves 15 young children and their families, offering zero-barrier early education and parent support to prepare families for long-term success.
Full Circle Marketplace has generated over $150,000 in revenue to support Hub programs, while offering workforce development and free essentials to hundreds of families, and empowering local entrepreneurs and students with job experience.
The Hub Community Center brings tutoring, ESL, financial literacy, job readiness, and family engagement directly into low-income housing communities, creating access to opportunity where it’s needed most for 175 families.
Backed by a growing network of over 940 volunteers, 15 churches and faith based communities, and 250+ community partners, The Hub OC is not just meeting immediate needs, it’s transforming lives, restoring dignity, and building a sustainable model of holistic community care that other cities can replicate.
Needs Statement
The need in our community is great and growing. Every day, families in Orange are struggling with homelessness, a lack of childcare, and not enough support for their children in school. At The Hub OC, we are doing everything we can to meet these needs. But we cannot do it alone. To continue and grow our work, we need help.
First, we need funding to expand our Hub Resource Center. Right now, we serve more than 2,200 people each month with meals, showers, laundry, and housing help. But we need to expand to serve the need. More families are coming to us without a safe place during the day, and we need to build a Family Resource Center to give them privacy, support, and a path forward. This expansion will let us help more families with children find stability and permanent housing.
Second, our Youth Centers of Orange are reaching more children than ever before. We now run eight after-school programs (ELOPs) across three school campuses. Every day, 250 students count on us for tutoring, meals, sports, music, and a safe place to belong. But the demand is rising fast. Schools are asking us to serve more students, and we need funding to hire and train more staff to say yes to these new sites. Without this support, many students will miss out on the structure and care they need after school. We are also seeking funding to support our Summer Camp program, which provides safe, enriching care for youth during the critical out-of-school months. Scholarships are urgently needed to ensure low-income families can access high-quality programming, regardless of their ability to pay.
Lastly, our Early Learning program is providing much-needed care to children ages 0–5. These are some of the most important years in a child’s life. Families are desperate for affordable, loving, and consistent care but the need far outweighs what we can currently offer. To grow this program, we need funding to become a licensed preschool. This step will allow us to serve more children in a high-quality, state-approved setting and offer lasting support to working parents.
These are the building blocks of real change: safe shelter, strong education, and early support for families. With your partnership, we can build the future Orange needs.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
As the CEO of The Hub OC, I’m constantly in awe of the incredible people we serve, and the remarkable people who serve them. There is truly no one better. The individuals we walk alongside each day are some of Orange County’s most vulnerable: those living at or below the poverty line, experiencing food insecurity, or facing the long, painful realities of homelessness, domestic violence, and human trafficking. And yet, they are among the most courageous, hardworking, and inspiring people you’ll ever meet.
Equally extraordinary are the staff and volunteers who serve with unwavering love and grit. They are wise, strong, kind, and joyful, showing up day after day to go above and beyond for those in need. At The Hub, we have a simple but powerful policy: we say yes. Yes to solving problems. Yes to facing the hardest challenges. Yes to walking with people through the darkest valleys. And time and time again, we’ve seen that when we say yes, God meets us with the impossible, bringing people together, opening doors, and delivering solutions that only He could orchestrate.
This work is not easy, but the team and our city partners press on with a “we won’t quit” spirit that inspires me every single day. It’s more than a job. It’s a calling. And it’s transforming lives one yes at a time.

Statement from the Board Chair/President
The work The Hub OC does fulfills so much of my passion to serve others. My grandfather was an orphan during the Great Depression and instilled in me a heart of gratitude for what I have and to serve people in need. I have known and worked with The Hub OC Founder, Holiday Zimmerman, on various endeavors over many years. Because I believe each of us are called to be generous with our time, talents, and treasures, after seeing the programs and services The Hub OC provides while being good stewards of their donations, it was an easy “yes” when I was asked to join the Board. If there was one thing I wish everyone knew about the organization, it would be to see the passion and gifting of The Hub OC team and their heart to serve the community with everything they have.
