Helping Hands Grant Program
The HELPING HANDS grant program focuses on strengthening youth, residents and community through supporting community-based organizations. Through Helping Hands, we are helping local charities to expand their social impact through the generosity of Anaheim residents, businesses, and funding partners. In the past ten years, ACF has awarded 220 grants to 90 individual charities, totaling over $300,000. Your donation ensures worthwhile programs continue for arts and culture, safe and healthy youth, seniors, libraries, nature and emergency assistance. Donations can also be made online at anaheimcf.org.
Each year, Helping Hands strengthens the community by supporting community-based organizations in the following funding priorities:
• Food insecurity
• Engaging underserved youth
• Promoting healthy living
• Arts, culture and learning
• Emergency assistance
The Foundation gives special consideration to applicants demonstrating a multiple agency approach to problem solving, and/or augment the requested Helping Hands grant with matching dollars and volunteer labor.
Youth Scholarships & Leadership
ACF helps youth and teens develop self-esteem while promoting personal and community responsibility. The Foundation’s youth programs and scholarships provide positive recreational and leadership activities that emphasize the value of staying in school, job training, and community involvement. In the past 10 years, ACF has impacted more than 3,500 youth through program scholarships of over $285,000.Among the numerous programs that ACF supports is Project S.A.Y. (Support Anaheim's Youth). Project S.A.Y. is the City of Anaheim’s Youth Development Program, serving Junior High and High School age youth and their families. The program uses a combination of Youth Outreach, Case Management, School Interventions, Assistance to Parents, Community Education, Youth Leadership Development, and Employment to engage youth in positive and constructive activities to promote the healthy development of young people.
In the long-term, the Anaheim Community Foundation is focused elevating the entire Anaheim nonprofit sector by creating unity, community, and opportunity for residents of every age. Long-term success for Project S.A.Y. is to have a 100% youth attending higher learning institutions, as well as growth in workforce development among young adults having been part of Project. S.A.Y.
