CEO/Executive Director Experience
Pamela Estes is the CEO for the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach, which also serves families in the Saddleback Valley area. She has been with the organization since 2001, when she started as the Club’s first Development & Marketing Director. Throughout her tenure Pam has built positive relationships with key stakeholders of the organization (kids, parents, donors, partners, schools, cities, board members, staff, volunteers, community groups, local media and businesses) and played a critical role in successfully growing the Club to exponentially increase the number of youth served, intentionality of programs, organizational capacity, geographic service area, number of youth serving staff, and budget. As Development Director, Pam Directly supported Board driven success in surpassing a $3 million Capital Campaign goal, which included a $1 million matching gift. In that role she also created a fresh image and generated community buzz through a multi-faceted marketing strategy that achieved national acclaim. Her efforts won the following competitive awards for the organization: BGCA Marketing & Communications Awards, LB Chamber Nonprofit of the Year, CA State Nonprofit of the Year, and led the Club to become recognized by the OC Business Journal as one of the top 100 Nonprofits in OC. In 2007, as Interim Executive Director, Pam stepped in on a dime to manage the $1.5 million organization. She quickly created framework for impact-driven vision and demonstrated the strong management skills needed to deal with both internal and external issues. In 2008 Pam was officially named CEO. Since then the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach has served more children each year and now has record breaking average daily attendance of Club programs. She has built strategic alliances with local agencies that provide complimentary services to better meet the needs of both children and families. Pam has been called “the Children’s Champion,” named one of the top ten “Changemakers” by Laguna Beach Magazine, and one of OC's top Visionaries by the LA Times. Pam received her AA in Photography at Orange Coast College. She then studied abroad at the Alliance de Francaise in Paris France. Following that she went on to study Fine Art with an emphasis on Printmaking at California State University Long Beach (CSULB). In addition Pam received a certificate in Non Profit Business Administration from CSULB. She also participated in the Strom Thurman Leadership Institute at Clemson University, Advanced Leadership Program through Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Fieldstone Foundation Executive Leadership Group, and Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Program. Pam is affiliated with the Rotary Club of Laguna Beach, Be Well School Age Workgroup, Laguna Beach Prevention Coalition, California School Age Consortium, Orange County Substance Prevention Network, and Association of Boys & Girls Club Professionals.
