Background Statement

Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove (BGCGG) is a proud 69-year affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), offering a comprehensive and adaptive range of services tailored to the evolving needs of our community across six cities.

Program sites include Youth Development Services at 44 elementary schools, 9 intermediate schools, and 3 high schools, in addition to our traditional Clubhouse. BGCGG also operates a robust network of family support programs, including Family & Youth Outreach Programs (FYOP), Access to Resources for Children’s Health, Education, and Support (ARCHES), School-Based Counseling, and Truancy Prevention Programs (TPP).

Our early learning services continue to grow and now include Family Campus Preschool, Clinton Corner Early Head Start, Skylark Preschool, and the newly added Stanford licensed preschool. We have also introduced Early Childhood Mental Health programs to better support the needs of our youngest learners and their families. Notably, our Family Campus Preschool has received a 5-star quality rating, recognizing excellence in early childhood education.

Since our founding in 1956, BGCGG has grown from a single location to more than 60 sites, with daily enrollment exceeding 6,500 children and annual outreach to over 24,720 youth and families across Garden Grove, Westminster, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Stanton, Cypress, and Orange.

What began as a safe haven to keep children off the streets has evolved into a multifaceted organization addressing the complex and urgent challenges facing families today. With few alternatives available, BGCGG has taken the lead in developing programs that are relevant, impactful, and responsive to the real-life needs of the community.

Today, we proudly serve children from 6 months to 18 years of age, with services that extend to the whole family, fostering resilience, opportunity, and hope for a brighter future.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director

The enduring power of our work may be boiled down to one key component: the supportive and impactful connection a young person can have with a positive mentor, serves as the basis for progressive outcomes even in the most challenging situations.  This is the foundation to the fun, enriching programs and services we deliver to the over 6,000 youth who attend our programs daily at our Club and school based cities across Garden Grove and the seven surrounding cities.

It is important to note that our organization does not strive to simply be the "best" but, more specifically, to DO the best we can for the kids and families we serve.
