CEO/Executive Director Experience

 For over 30 years, California Youth Services (CYS) Executive Director Margie Diaz, LCSW has been in the field of social work and clinical counseling, specifically working with adolescents dealing with substance abuse. delinquency, and mental health. Her resume details her passion for helping people. She started out taking care of families of developmentally disabled individuals, became a counselor in various capacities helping adolescents and their parents combat the teen issues they face, and moved quickly into leadership and director roles in the industry for various non-profits and hospitals. Throughout this experience, Margie has developed a keen awareness for various resources and agencies throughout Orange County, understanding and knowing them inside and out. She’s developed lasting, collaborative relationships with various agencies and nonprofits and is known as the crisis expert in the industry due to her vast knowledge of where to go for help. Being that she is available 24hrs/7days a week for families in crisis, she is a very unique executive director in that more than half her time is allocated towards directly working with people. Margie graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California and her BA in Behavior Science from Concordia University. Throughout all of this, she had time to raise triplets, who are now all grown up pursuing their careers.
