Background Statement
CarePossible was born from years of observing countless individuals sincerely seeking care and treatment for mental health and/or addiction issues, but unable to receive help due to lack of funds. This observation created a passion, a holy discontent, to get on the solution side of these problems. Research showed that overdose and suicide rates in the United States were at unbelievably high levels--epidemic levels. Further research showed that our own military was particularly at risk--with over 22 suicides daily. Additionally, most families do not know where to turn when addiction or mental health issues impact their family. Armed with this knowledge and passion, founder Randy Moraitis reached out to his network of expert mental health professionals and nonprofit experts to launch CarePossible. Due to the fact that mental health and addiction issues impact most families, there has been a great deal of support from the inception. Those whose lives have been touched by the painful and sensitive issues have been eager to help an organization to those who want help, need help, but cannot afford help. The founder also has a long history of family members in the military and has seen first hand how traumatic combat service can be on the entire family system. The Orange County Register recently published an article stating that military service is now the number one risk factor for suicide. Many other news reports have highlighted how our veterans are dying while awaiting treatment. Our military deserves better and CarePossible provides free, confidential care to our military and their families. Through our network of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, counselors, coaches and treatment centers CarePossible is able to offer the very best of care for those in need. We also partner with various community organizations, including school districts, to spread awareness and help prevent overdoses and suicides. Our goal is to save lives, save families, and help individuals get well so they can be contributing members of society.
