CEO/Executive Director Experience
Paul Hodgins holds a doctorate in music from the University of Southern California. He spent 25 years as an arts journalist and critic at The Orange County Register, covering theater, dance and classical music, and previously served on the dance faculty at UC Irvine. He co-founded Culture OC in 2018, first as the Arts & Culture section of Voice of OC, and has led its transition to an independent nonprofit newsroom. His honors include multiple awards, including a first-place 2019 National Arts Journalism Award for the first story that launched what is now Culture OC's Arts & Culture coverage, and he is the author of four books, including "Music, Movement and Metaphor," a foundational text in the field of choreomusicology.
