Mission Statement
GET SAFE exists to save lives and promote the physical safety and mental well-being of people from all walks of life through education, awareness, and effective communication.
Background Statement
For almost 40 years, GET SAFE has been providing personal safety and violence prevention training to corporations, nonprofits, educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, persons with disabilities, and survivors of violence. If there's a population that needs training, we've got 'em covered.
Impact Statement
Last year, GET SAFE provided almost 7000 sessions/9000 training hours, and over $15k in-kind donations to our community, specifically for persons with developmental disabilities, survivors of sexual assault, and various nonprofit organizations. We launched our ON THE EDGE: School Safety & Targeted Violence Prevention Program to reduce the number of violent incidents plaguing our schools, and in collaboration with the US DOJ's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), continued providing crisis intervention, de-escalation, and diversity training to law enforcement agencies all over the United States. Our goals for 2023 include expanding our online training options nationally, and in these trying financial times, securing additional federal and foundational funding, so we may continue to provide critical and life-saving training to our most vulnerable populations.
