Anaheim Food Pantry Network (AFPN)

Anaheim Food Pantry Network (AFPN) Mission: “Reducing food insecurity through partnerships and collaboration.” We will develop a Food Pantry Network of resources, organizations, urban farms, and programs to reduce food insecurity significantly in Anaheim. The Anaheim Food Pantry Network is privately funded in partnership with the City of Anaheim and is an extension of meeting Food Insecurity needs during Covid. Presently, JMh - Anaheim organizes the packing of Food and / or Produce Bags per week, distributing them to three City of Anaheim Family Resource Centers, and three Mobile Family Resource Center locations per week of the 34 locations determined by the City of Anaheim on the Choice Market Truck. The City of Anaheim is finishing its third year of operating its Mobile Family Resource Center (MFRC) which connects 34 High Need neighborhoods across Anaheim with multiple service providers. JMh / Love Anaheim has provided food resources in 2023 two-three times weekly when the Anaheim Mobile Family Resource Center (MFRC) mobilizes. Thanks to a generous Samueli Foundation Grant, JMh / Love Anaheim purchased a Choice Market Truck to implement a move from Food Boxes or Bags to a “shopping” experience. JMh / Love Anaheim launched the Choice Market Truck on September 12, 2023 which has increased fresh food access to the 34 identified underserved neighborhoods. Anaheim Residents from these neighborhoods receive a bag, enter the Choice Market Truck, and “shop” for the fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and shelf stable items they prefer.
