Margaret was born in Yorkshire, England, where she qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives at Leeds University and worked with several large law firms. After spending four years in Paris, she relocated to California with her husband in 1994, settling in Capistrano Beach in 1997. Margaret began volunteering with Laura’s House in 1997 and was hired as a Legal Advocate in 1998. She went on to develop the organization’s Legal Department, expand staffing, and was promoted to Operations Director. In 2000, she was appointed Interim CEO/Executive Director and formally assumed the role in 2001. Under her leadership, Laura’s House has grown to an operating budget of $3 million and annual revenue exceeding $6 million. Margaret’s professional affiliations include: Founding Member, Judge Iles Domestic Violence Coordination Team Advisory Board Member, Domestic Violence Curriculum – California State University, Fullerton State-Certified Domestic Violence Advocate State-Certified Sexual Assault Counselor Member, Vistage Member, The Coaching Network (Fieldstone Foundation)
