The California Showcase's mission is to provide as many qualified student-athletes as possible with the opportunity to receive a scholarship in order to pursue a college education and degree at an NCAA Division II, III, or NAIA school while playing the great game of college football. Background Statement

The California Showcase was founded by Coach Terry Donahue (Head Coach, UCLA 1976 - 1995) in partnership with the National Football Foundation in order to provide graduating high school seniors the opportunity to earn scholarships or financial aid to attend colleges or universities across the country. Many of these young student-athletes are first generation to attend college in their families. Since 2013, over 1,100 student-athletes have attended college as a result of the CA Showcase. Many of these young students have gone on to earn their Master's or Doctorate degrees.

Impact Statement

Since inception, over 4,000 student-athletes have attended the California Showcase with nearly 800 signing with an NCAA Division II, III, or NAIA four-year college or university and nearly 400 recruited by a California community college with the hopes of transferring to a four-year school. That is 1 in 3!

The average scholarship or financial aid award is $30,000 per year/per student at a four-year school and $10,000 per year/per student at a California community college. In 10 years, over $40 million in financial aid packages have been awarded to these student-athletes by 150 colleges across the country.

Needs Statement

The California Showcase is an annual, one-day event funded entirely by corporate and personal donations. The Showcase needs to raise approximately $200,000 annually in order to hold the event and continue to provide deserving student-athletes the opportunity to attend college and earn a degree.
