Ms. Nora Mendez

CEO/Executive Director Experience

A former OCCHC resident, Nora's family was introduced to our mission when she moved into our Buena Clinton Affordable Housing Units when she was the age of 10. Nora became the first generation in her family to graduate from college, the first generation in her family to become a homeowner and is the Executive Director of the same organization that helped her step up to self-sufficiency. Nora is an example to our families, and her experience helps drive transformative change in the lives of families once living on the brink of homelessness through affordable housing and education. Mendez serves as a Board Member for the Kennedy Commission, National CORE, NeighborWorks OC, Our Lady of Guadalup and Casa Santa Maria. She was also honored by LULAC and the 65th Assembly District for her advocacy and service to our communities and inducted in Santa Ana College's 2017 Alumni Hall of Fame alongside Elizabeth Aitken, Steven Craig, Jack DeWit and Denise Spooner. “As a former resident of OCCHC who has benefited from its housing, mentoring and educational services, I can truly relate to our families. Our focus in providing housing with education is the tool that assists families in obtaining self-sufficiency. It is with great pride and considerable pleasure that I look forward to OCCHC’s future productivity and service for our extremely low-income families in Orange County.”
