Gina is a South Florida native who moved to Southern California in 2004. She is a Fine Artist & an accomplished and published muralist who has been working in the decorative arts field for the past 25 years. “I am asked with consistent regularity how I became involved with our homeless neighbors. My answer is simple, it is my calling from The Lord. The first moment I knew I was born to do this work was when I was 7, having watched the mini-series “Roots”. Sitting at the dinner table with my mom after the final episode, I said, “I want to be the next Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”. Even at that early age I knew my vocation, the Lord’s purpose for me. My calling, my passion, my mission, was and IS to be the voice for those who do not have a voice, for the forgotten, the discarded, the ignored. My father also influenced my life by how he lived his own. His accomplishments and challenges continue to inspire me and impact the ministry of Our Father’s Table.” Gina was interviewed for an article by the National Catholic Reporter which recognized OFT’s Care Navigation ministry. In addition, Gina was interviewed on shows that aired on EWTN and OC Catholic TV which publicized the work being conducted by her corps of volunteers under her leadership. Gina has undoubtedly garnered unconditional respect and praise for her OFT's noble work ending the cycle of chronic homelessness. Finally, Gina was asked to speak at Sr of St. Joseph’s 2016 Speaker Series program. Gina’s presentation was titled “Mending Dignity Among Our Homeless.” Gina’s inspiration to minister to the homeless came to her as a divine calling which she honored as a dutiful conviction. Gina’s life mission and calling is to ensure that every homeless brother or sister that enters OFT’s path knows they are worthy, OFT will never give up on them, and they are loved by God. She founded Our Father’s Table in 2014 after several years of discernment.
