PROGRAMS
Pop-up Day Camps
Our camps provide trauma-informed care to children during and right after emergencies. We pop camps up within 48 hours to ensure that care is delivered quickly. Our camps: Incorporate volunteer childcare professionals (teachers, camp counselors, etc.) Offer critical social-emotional learning and mental health support Provide stopgap continuity of care for first responders and schools during disasters
Provide free, trauma-informed childcare in the event of disaster
Activate local youth professionals to provide expert disaster response care
Empower parents to do what is needed to move their families through a difficult experience
Support the mental health of children during this experience
Community Preparedness
We build relationships with the right organizations and people so connections and plans are already in place when disaster strikes. To organize a community we: Create a plan to address the needs of children and families during times of crisis Provide the language to use in existing emergency operations plans Train local volunteers on our approach to trauma-informed care
Prepare childcare in the event of disaster
Network schools, emergency management, and community organizations to prepare plans to respond
Prepare youth professionals to respond in their community
Build mutual aid networks for childcare between cities and counties in a region
