OUR STORY

Skyline Sober Living Network was founded on a simple belief: recovery should never be treated like a business transaction. Since 2015, Skyline has worked to provide safe, structured, and supportive sober living environments for men seeking a real opportunity to rebuild their lives. Over the years, the organization witnessed firsthand how many sober living homes prioritized profit over people — overcrowded houses, little accountability, unsafe environments, and residents left without the guidance or community they needed to succeed.

Skyline was built to be different.

From the beginning, the focus has been on structure, accountability, community, and long-term growth. Rather than simply providing a bed, Skyline works to create an environment where residents can regain stability, reconnect with family, secure employment, build healthy routines, and develop the life skills necessary for lasting recovery. Every home is designed to foster responsibility, peer support, and a sense of belonging.

In 2026, Skyline officially transitioned from a traditional for-profit model into a nonprofit organization after recognizing the growing need for scholarship-supported sober living and mission-driven recovery housing in Orange County. The transition reflected the organization’s commitment to putting people before profit and expanding access to sober living for individuals who may not otherwise be able to afford safe housing during recovery.

Today, Skyline Sober Living Network continues to serve men throughout Orange County through structured sober living homes focused on integrity, compassion, and accountability. With a growing network of community partnerships, scholarship initiatives, and nonprofit support, Skyline’s mission is to help individuals not only achieve sobriety, but rebuild meaningful, independent, and purpose-driven lives.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide safe, structured, and community-driven sober living for men rebuilding their lives in recovery. After operating since 2015, we transitioned to a nonprofit model in 2026 with one purpose: putting people over profit. We are committed to creating stable, supportive homes where accountability, dignity, and long-term recovery come first — regardless of a person’s financial circumstances. Through mentorship, structure, scholarship opportunities, and a strong sense of brotherhood, we help individuals reconnect with their families, regain independence, and build meaningful futures rooted in sobriety and personal growth.

Background Statement

Founded in 2015, Skyline Sober Living Network was created to provide men in recovery with more than just a place to stay — it was built to create a true sense of structure, accountability, and community during one of the most difficult transitions in a person’s life. Over the years, Skyline witnessed firsthand the growing need for ethical, recovery-focused sober living environments that prioritize people instead of profit.
In 2026, Skyline transitioned into a nonprofit organization to expand its mission and increase access to sober living support for individuals facing financial hardship. This transition reflected the organization’s belief that recovery housing should be centered on stability, dignity, and long-term success, not financial gain. Skyline’s homes are designed to foster responsibility, peer support, and personal growth while helping residents rebuild relationships, maintain employment, and establish healthy routines in recovery.
Today, Skyline continues to serve the Orange County recovery community by providing structured sober living environments, scholarship opportunities, and hands-on support aimed at helping residents achieve sustainable, independent living.

Impact Statement

Skyline Sober Living Network exists to create lasting change in the lives of men recovering from substance use by providing safe, structured, and recovery-focused sober living environments. Our impact is measured not simply by occupancy, but by the lives rebuilt within our homes — individuals reconnecting with their families, maintaining long-term sobriety, securing employment, developing accountability, and becoming active members of their communities again.
Many residents come to Skyline after experiencing unstable housing, relapse cycles, incarceration, or sober living environments that lacked structure and genuine support. Through peer accountability, consistent expectations, community involvement, and hands-on leadership, Skyline helps residents establish stability during a critical stage of recovery. Our homes promote responsibility, healthy routines, and a sense of belonging that many individuals have not experienced in years.
As a nonprofit organization, Skyline is committed to expanding access to recovery housing through scholarship opportunities and community support, ensuring financial hardship does not become a barrier to recovery. By prioritizing people over profit, Skyline aims to strengthen not only the individuals within our homes, but also the families and communities connected to them.

Needs Statement

The need for funding at Skyline Sober Living Network is significant and immediate. Orange County continues to face a growing demand for safe, structured, and affordable sober living environments, while many individuals in recovery lack the financial resources necessary to access stable housing during the most vulnerable stages of rebuilding their lives. Too often, men leaving treatment programs, incarceration, homelessness, or unstable living situations are forced back into environments that contribute to relapse because they cannot afford quality recovery housing.
After operating as a for-profit sober living provider since 2015, Skyline transitioned into a nonprofit organization in 2026 in order to remove financial barriers to recovery and focus fully on mission-driven support rather than profit. While this transition allows Skyline to pursue grants, donations, and scholarship-based programming, it also created substantial financial challenges during the restructuring process. The organization is currently in a critical growth phase and requires outside funding to build long-term sustainability and expand access to sober living support for individuals in need.
Funding is needed to help cover operational expenses including housing costs, utilities, food support, transportation assistance, property maintenance, staffing, compliance infrastructure, and scholarship placements for residents experiencing financial hardship. Additional funding will also support organizational development, including website and outreach improvements, donor infrastructure, compliance systems, and the expansion of community partnerships that strengthen recovery outcomes.
Without financial support, many individuals seeking recovery housing may be denied access simply because they cannot afford it. Skyline believes recovery should not depend on a person’s income level, and the organization is actively working to create scholarship opportunities and long-term sustainability models that allow more individuals to receive support regardless of financial circumstances.
Investing in Skyline is an investment in long-term recovery, housing stability, community safety, and family restoration. By supporting structured sober living environments, funders have the opportunity to directly impact individuals working to rebuild their lives while helping reduce relapse, homelessness, unemployment, and repeated crises within the community.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director

As CEO of Skyline Sober Living Network, I have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for individuals in recovery to find stable, supportive housing that genuinely prioritizes their well-being. Too many sober living environments have become transactional, leaving vulnerable individuals without the structure, accountability, and sense of community necessary for long-term recovery. Skyline was built to challenge that model and create homes where people are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care.
Our decision to transition into a nonprofit organization in 2026 was driven by one core belief: recovery should never be limited by financial hardship. We believe people deserve an opportunity to rebuild their lives regardless of their circumstances, and we are committed to expanding access to safe, structured sober living through scholarships, community partnerships, and mission-driven support.
Every day, we witness residents restore relationships with their families, regain employment, rebuild confidence, and begin living with purpose again. Those moments are the reason Skyline exists. Recovery is not simply about sobriety — it is about restoring stability, accountability, and hope.
As we continue to grow, our greatest challenge is securing the funding necessary to sustain and expand these efforts. Community support allows us to provide housing, maintain safe living environments, strengthen our operational infrastructure, and ensure individuals in need are not turned away because of financial limitations.
We remain deeply committed to building a recovery community centered on integrity, accountability, and compassion. On behalf of everyone at Skyline, thank you to those who believe in our mission and stand alongside us as we work to create lasting change in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.

Statement from the Board Chair/President

Serving as Executive Director of Skyline Sober Living Network has given me the opportunity to witness the strength, resilience, and determination of individuals fighting to rebuild their lives through recovery. Every person who enters our homes carries a different story, but many arrive with the same need — stability, support, accountability, and a genuine opportunity to move forward.
At Skyline, we believe sober living should be more than just temporary housing. It should be a foundation for long-term growth, personal responsibility, and community. Our mission is rooted in creating structured environments where residents feel supported while also being challenged to rebuild healthy routines, restore relationships, maintain employment, and develop confidence in their future.
Our transition to a nonprofit organization in 2026 represented a major step forward in aligning our operations with our values. We made the decision to place people over profit and focus on expanding access to recovery housing for individuals who may otherwise be unable to afford it. We understand that financial hardship should never prevent someone from receiving support during one of the most important periods of their life.
The work we do would not be possible without the support of our community, donors, partners, and advocates who believe in recovery and second chances. As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: creating safe, accountable, and compassionate sober living environments that give individuals the opportunity to reclaim their lives with dignity and purpose.
I am proud of the progress Skyline has made and even more hopeful for what lies ahead. Together, we can continue building a recovery community that changes lives not only for individuals, but for families and communities as a whole.
