Background Statement

SoCal Animal Response Team (SCART) was founded by a group of animal-loving citizens dedicated to the goal that all animals, whether they have fur, feathers, scales, shells, or skin, are taken care of and saved from the horrors of being abandoned or left behind after a disaster or crisis. They have also pledged their assistance to help animals in need during these difficult times.

SCART is a Southern California-based animal disaster response team whose goals are to educate the public in disaster preparedness for their families and pets and to provide assistance to animals affected by a disaster.

Impact Statement

Donations help us raise the necessary funds to sustain and expand our initiatives. These funds are utilized to develop and disseminate educational materials, organize workshops, and conduct outreach programs that empower pet owners with the knowledge and skills needed to keep their beloved animals safe during emergencies.
Additionally, the donations enable us to continue training dedicated volunteers who are essential in assisting both local and national agencies in pet disaster response efforts. These trained volunteers are a vital resource during times of crisis, providing essential support in evacuations, shelter management, and caring for animals in need.
With your support, we can make a lasting impact on the well-being of pets and their families during challenging times. Together, we are creating a safer and more resilient community for both humans and their furry companions.

Accomplishments in 2023:

Statement from the Board Chair/President

All non-profits require funds to continue their efforts in the community, especially in a disaster or crisis. But it is difficult for our organization to find grant funding or to receive a large financial donation unless the community has been affected by a recent disaster. Funds are needed before a disaster to keep our volunteers and supplies disaster-ready and able to respond quickly in a disaster.
