SOCAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
OUR STORY
SoCal Community Development Corporation (SoCal CDC) is dedicated to transforming communities by creating economic opportunity for all. We believe that when individuals and families are equipped with the right knowledge, tools, and support systems, they can build stronger financial futures and thriving communities.
Our programs focus on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and youth development. Through initiatives such as small business training, youth entrepreneurship academies, and financial empowerment workshops, we help individuals gain the skills and confidence needed to start businesses, build wealth, and achieve long-term economic stability.
SoCal CDC works closely with community partners, schools, financial institutions, and local leaders to ensure underserved families have access to resources that are often out of reach. Our programs provide practical education, mentorship, and real-world opportunities that help participants turn ideas into action.
From aspiring entrepreneurs launching their first business to young people discovering pathways to careers in technology and innovation, SoCal CDC is committed to leveling the playing field and expanding access to opportunity.
Together with our supporters and partners, we are building a future where economic mobility is possible for everyone.

Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
At SoCal Community Development, our focus is to provide not just "satisfactory" or "good" programs and services, but we strive to deliver our programs with excellence in every way possible. Our leadership team, led by Sedric Hill, draws from decades of experience in the corporate sector to provide a high standard of educational excellence. For example, Sedric is a recognized leader in training and development (T&D) where he designs SoCal CDC educational programs with the same rigor of expensive, paid programs. Our EmpowerBiz - Mastering Business Acumen entrepreneur workshop features the famous Harvard Case Study Model where participants experience a deeper, richer learning by engaging in small group discussions using real business case studies. Our Youth entrepreneur program features advanced curriculum that has now been adopted as part of the "core" curriculum at the Orange County Department of Education's "ACCESS" Schools. Another example of striving for excellence can be demonstrated in our Pitch Competitions, (like the show Shark Tank) whereby entrepreneur participants showcase their newly acquired knowledge in front of a public audience. Finally, SOCAL Community Development is known for our commitment to the highest standards of social impact and measurement. To evaluate social impact, we begin each program by collecting demographic and socio-economic information from our participants. We also set up ongoing communication processes and expectations including pre and post assessments, social media follow up, post program interviews, impact surveys five years and beyond post program. As a valued partner, we provide annual impact reports and additional reporting upon your request. Our approach focuses on outcomes and impact versus merely "checking a box" for program completion.
