Specialty Care

With no public health care system in Orange County, there is a critical shortage of affordable health services for the underserved. This is especially true for individuals that need advanced care for major health or chronic conditions. With the limited number of specialty providers accepting state-subsidized health insurance, and 'cash patient' rates for specialist visits ranging from $210-$300 per encounter, most underserved Orange County residents cannot access or afford specialty medical services, and as a result they significantly delay or forgo receiving care. Realizing the considerable barriers to access the underserved face, in 2007 Lestonnac Free Clinic (LFC) developed the Specialty Care Program which provides low-income, uninsured Orange County residents with access to 27 different medical specialties at no cost to the patient. This is made possible by dozens of doctors who volunteer their time and talents, and through thousands of dollars in donated equipment and supplies.

Bridge to Care

In an effort to provide access to free, high-quality health care and reduce the length of appointment wait lists, the Clinic began the Bridge to Care program. Similar to an urgent care, the Bridge to Care programs allows patients immediate access for non-life threatening health care conditions as walk-in patients. Our Bridge to Care program operates at multiple clinic sites in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.

Eye Care, We Care Program

With the purchase of a new optical edger, we can make glasses in-house in 15 minutes! Patients receive their exam and glasses the same day.
