CEO/Executive Director Experience

Young Lee Hertig joined ISAAC as a co-founder in April 2006. After the departure of the first Executive Director, she was voted to be the second Executive Director on December 1, 2011. She inherited $2,400 when she began her role. During her tenure she has raised 2 million dollars. Under her leadership, the name ISAAC, formerly known as the Institute for the Study of Asian American Christianity, was amended to Innovative Space for Asian American Christianity in 2016. Prior to joining ISAAC, she had been a faculty at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena from 1991-1995 and Vera B. Blinn Chair of World Christianity at United Theological Seminary from 1998-2002. Upon returning to Los Angeles in 2002, she dreamed of a nonprofit organization for generating AAPI Christian Knowledge for leadership equipping. ISAAC has been her dream coming true no matter how grueling the journey has been in a third space.
