The Riverbank Organization
OUR STORY
Meeting the urgent physical needs of foster kids, trafficking survivors, and families in crisis with radical generosity - breaking the cycle of and bringing hope.
Mission Statement
Through radical generosity, we meet the urgent physical needs of foster youth, trafficking survivors, and families in crisis—breaking cycles of homelessness and instability while restoring dignity and hope.
Background Statement
Riverbank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2022 to meet the urgent physical needs of families and individuals in crisis across Southern California. We work to help prevent children from entering foster care, support survivors of human trafficking as they transition into safe housing, and assist individuals and families emerging from homelessness by providing essential home furnishings and household items needed to rebuild stable lives.
Through partnerships with local agencies, schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations, Riverbank fills critical gaps in the social safety net. By delivering essential items directly to families—such as refrigerators, beds, tables, and basic household necessities—we transform empty spaces into safe, functional homes. This immediate, practical support reduces the risk of returning to homelessness, helps families remain together, and restores dignity during times of vulnerability.
Guided by radical generosity and compassionate action, Riverbank mobilizes community resources to create lasting impact. We proudly serve families across Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties—providing immediate relief, strengthening family stability, and helping individuals break cycles of crisis.
Impact Statement
At Riverbank, we believe no one should face crisis alone. Through radical generosity and strong community partnerships, we mobilize resources to meet urgent, practical needs for individuals and families across Southern California.
Since our founding, Riverbank has helped stabilize families transitioning out of homelessness, supported survivors of domestic violence as they move into safe housing, and partnered with schools, social workers, and community agencies to ensure families have the essential items they need to rebuild their lives. From providing refrigerators, beds, and kitchen tables to supplying basic household necessities, our support transforms empty spaces into homes and moments of crisis into opportunities for stability.
Our impact extends beyond material goods. By removing immediate barriers to housing stability, we help families remain together, reduce the risk of returning to homelessness, and restore dignity during vulnerable transitions. Every delivery represents more than an item—it represents safety, hope, and a tangible reminder that a community stands behind them.
With each donation, volunteer hour, and community partnership, Riverbank strengthens the safety net for Orange County families. We are not just meeting needs—we are helping break cycles of instability and empowering families to move forward with confidence.
The impact we are making today is building the foundation for stronger, more resilient communities tomorrow.
Needs Statement
Across Southern California, rising housing costs, economic instability, and limited access to affordable housing continue to push families into crisis. Many households transitioning out of homelessness, survivors of human trafficking entering safe housing, and families at risk of child welfare involvement face a critical but often overlooked barrier: they do not have the essential furnishings and household items needed to create a safe, functional home.
Without basic necessities such as beds, refrigerators, tables, and other household essentials, families struggle to maintain housing stability. Children may sleep on floors, food security becomes compromised without proper storage, and already vulnerable households face an increased risk of returning to homelessness or entering foster care systems.
While emergency shelters and housing programs provide critical placement support, there remains a significant gap in resources for fully furnishing homes once housing is secured. The demand for these essential items continues to outpace available supply, leaving many families in unsafe or unstable living conditions even after obtaining housing.
Riverbank exists to fill this gap. However, as requests for assistance continue to rise across Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties, additional resources and partnerships are essential to meet the growing need and ensure families can move from crisis to stability with dignity.

Because of your support, we are able to mobilize essential furnishings and appliances—beds, refrigerators, tables, and household necessities—that transform empty spaces into safe, stable homes.
Over the past year, we have seen firsthand how access to these basic essentials restores dignity, strengthens families, and helps prevent a return to homelessness or instability. What began as a vision rooted in radical generosity continues to grow into a sustainable, community-driven solution meeting real and urgent needs.
