Erin Nielsen – Executive Director, Tustin Community Foundation With a distinguished career spanning equipment leasing, employee staffing management, and an early professional foundation at Disneyland, Erin Nielsen has dedicated her expertise to community service and nonprofit leadership. She joined the Tustin Community Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2006 and, recognizing her deep commitment and strategic vision, was appointed Executive Director in December 2007. Bringing over 30 years of management experience, Erin holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Communications and United States History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has further enhanced her leadership capabilities by earning professional certifications in Nonprofit Management, Fundraising Fundamentals, Fundraising Leadership, and Volunteer Management. A native Southern Californian, Erin has been a driving force in community development for more than three decades. Her extensive service includes board leadership roles with the Assistance League of Santa Ana, the Junior League of Orange County, Las Campanas, and numerous Parent-Teacher and youth sports organizations. Her unwavering dedication to volunteerism has earned her multiple accolades, including the prestigious Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award and the honor of being named Tustin Area Woman of the Year in 2018 for her outstanding contributions to the community. Most recently, she was recognized with the 2023 "You Go Girl" Award from the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin. Erin has proudly raised her two children (and three Golden Retrievers) in Tustin, a community she remains deeply passionate about. As Executive Director of the Tustin Community Foundation, she continues to drive philanthropic efforts that enhance the quality of life in the greater Tustin area, ensuring a lasting impact through collaboration, generosity, and strategic giving.
